INSTITUTIONAL GIVING MANAGER
POSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
The Institutional Giving Manager creates, develops and executes a strategic fundraising plan for foundation and corporate giving to A Noise Within’s annual fund and capital campaign. This position manages the identification and stewardship of institutional funders, as well as grant writing and reporting.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
*Create, develop and execute a strategic fundraising plan for institutional giving to meet approved annual and capital budgets. Track and analyze performance, making and carrying out recommendations to improve effectiveness.
*Formulate and maintain departmental budget and provide regular updates to the Artistic Directors and the Board of Directors.
*Work closely with the Individual Giving Manager and others to develop and implement strategies to finish the capital campaign.
* Manage the theatre’s relationships with current and potential institutional funders.
*Research new foundations and corporations and strategize to capture these prospective funders.
*Write and manage grant proposals, calendar, reporting and follow up.
*Provide timely, personalized service to foundations and corporations, assuring that funders receive proper benefits, acknowledgements and recognition. Work closely with development colleagues and other staff members to ensure the best match possible with funder interests and contributions.
*Meet directly with current and prospective donors to cultivate and solicit contributions. Support the Artistic Director, Individual Giving Manager and Board members in their solicitations of institutional donors.
*Interact regularly with donors, Board Members and community leaders while representing the Theatre at both A Noise Within events and other community events.
*Knowledge of LA community, locales, residents, art-scene and philanthropy a major plus.

Candidate must have a sense of humor and the ability to work in a frenetic and upbeat, exciting, ever-changing atmosphere. Ideal candidate will be a quick thinking self-starter who has a global view of the department and its relevance to the rest of the organization. Ability to take initiative, exercise good judgment, providing guidance to other staff required as well as a demonstrated ability to work flexible hours, including out of office hours.

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
*Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent. A wide degree of bachelor’s degrees could be relevant, so long as the training emphasized excellent writing skills, logic and argument, critical thinking, etc.
*1-2 years of development experience.
*Strong database management skills.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
*Direct development assistants
*Conduct performance appraisals.

WORKING REQUIREMENTS
*Employee may be required to work extended or evening and weekend hours.
*Employee is required to maintain a high level of professionalism at all times.
