On Thursday, May 17, A Noise Within and Pasadena Conservatory of Music presented a magical, one-night-only fundraising event – Three Vignettes – filled with lively music and theatre. Stephen McCurry, Executive Director of PCM, and ANW’s Co-Producing Artistic Directors Julia Rodriguez-Elliott and Geoff Elliott combined their artistic visions and planned a night that recreated signature venues in Paris.

Attendees were treated to live jazz, wine, and scenes from famous French plays against a romantic backdrop of glowing candles and stringed lights. ANW’s Lawerence Rehearsal Hall became Le Conservatoire, where the orchestral piece An American in Paris by George Gershwin accompanied a scene from Georges Feydeau’s A Flea in Her Ear. The Redmond Stage became Théâtre-Français, where La Valse by Maurice Ravel played along with a scene from Molière’s Tartuffe, and the lobby became Le Chat Noir, where Cabaret Songs by Erik Satie paired with a scene from Jean Giraudoux’s Madwoman of Chaillot. Following the main event, attendees gathered to wine and dine at ‘Le Deux Magots,’ a pop up French café, as they savored the best of both the creative worlds at PCM and ANW.

Enjoy the photos from our special night! This was the first time that we have partnered with Pasadena Conservatory of Music for an event, and we’re incredibly proud of our inaugural collaboration.
