By George Bernard Shaw

Directed by Guillermo Cienfuegos

May 12 – June 9, 2024

George Bernard Shaw’s signature wit and warmth is woven throughout this high-flying comedy, the grand finale of our 2023-24 season. When the arrival of uninvited guests disrupts an undergarment mogul’s quiet English countryside manor, tensions escalate and hidden truths come to light. Through lively debates and subsequent antics – including eight marriage proposals and one plane crash – the audience is treated to a satiric comedy of manners that exposes hilarious clashes of class, gender, and generations.

From the same director as the wildly entertaining 2023 production of Much Ado About Nothing.

Running Time: 2 hours and 45 minutes with an intermission
Content Advisory: This production features scenes involving e-cigarettes and an e-pipe, and the utilization of flashing lights.

BRILLIANT ...the sparkling conversation keeps the play galloping apace… scintillatingly entertaining.”
-Charles McNulty, Los Angeles Times

WOW! ...positively explodes with passion and surprises… one frothy performance after another with plenty of physical comedy hijinks… you won’t find a more visually stunning production in town.”
-Steven Stanley, Stage Scene LA

SHINES ...entertaining, humorous, satirical, and clever… a must-see production and one of A Noise Within’s best.”
-Elaine Mura, Splash Magazines

A WHIRLWIND OF WIT AND WHIMSY, proving that classic Shaw can still surprise and captivate modern audiences... the classically trained cast, under Guillermo Cienfuegos’ tight direction, nails it with style and a wink… Expect the unexpected and get ready for a good laugh.”
-Michael M. Landman-Karny, Stage and Cinema

A SMASHING GOOD TIME ...hilarious and relevant… witty and biting… funny and insightful… LA Theatre Bites ‘Recommended’.”
-Patrick Chavis, LA Theatre Bites
