Michael Bateman, Managing Director, joined A Noise Within in 2013 and has enjoyed building on A Noise Within’s reputation as the preeminent classical theatre of Southern California. It was Michael’s producing experience at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with a six-person, sixty-minute Macbeth that inspired him to pursue a career in theater management. He has served as an adjunct professor teaching Producing Theatre at USC’s School of Dramatic Arts and has presented on professionalization in the American Theater and building the case for artist compensation at the Theater Communications Group National Conference and at LA Stage Alliance. Michael holds a B.A. in psychology from Stanford and an M.F.A. in theater management from Yale School of Drama, including a fellowship with Barry Grove at Manhattan Theatre Club.
